India’s energy demand is expected to double by 2045 and the policies are needed for a greater push towards working on developing affordable and sustainable energy environment for the stakeholders.
India is ranked 63rd on the global Energy Transition Index released on June 19 this year by the World Economic Forum . The country is a leading stakeholder in the transition towards green energy . Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been at the forefront of taking India to lead globally in building a more sustainable and energy-efficient net-zero country with green energy transition, renewable energy use among others. During the G20 Summit in India in September 2023, the Global BioFuel Alliance was unveiled. Almost 22 nations and 12 international organisations came on board to encourage the use of biofuels worldwide, which is expected to create economic opportunities worth $500 billion.
